Plan Reading & Introduction to Estimating
This program is designed to teach the participant how to read construction blueprints and to provide an introduction to general construction cost estimating. It will be through the review of standard estimating procedures that participants will learn blueprint reading. You will go from the project layout to the bid summary through reviewing a detailed summary, through reviewing a detailed 13 page cost estimate of a general construction project using a set of plans and specifications for a component office laboratory.

This seminar reviews the problems of designs, construction, and construction management (CM) relating to money and performance and provides practical solutions to these problems. Aerospace, Government, and Contractors Cost Estimating
This powerful seminar concentrates on the preparation of a detailed construction cost estimate for a 4100 SF reinforced concrete masonry, steel joist roof system for an office laboratory building, using an 11-page set of plans and outline specification, 86 item price schedule. The color keyed slides and view graphs of 14-20 page estimate carries the student from the earthwork to bid summary with special emphasis on faster, more accurate and successful estimates for cost engineering. Also, an introduction to computer estimating now and in the future, with a sample manual and computer estimate for comparison, use, and ease of selecting a better computer estimating system.
